We are so pleased to introduce the members of our esteemed faculty who will head up our PACE program. They are:
Miles WesleyAn award-winning professional Broadway musical theatre actor, Mr. Wesley received his training at the American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York City. He starred as Simba in the Tony award-winning best musical Disney’s “The Lion King”, working with director Julie Taymor. Prior to that, Miles originated the title role of the musical “Aladdin” with Broadway directors Francesca Zambello and Lynne Taylor-Corbett. His voice can also be heard on the original cast recording. Miles has had the privilege of working with legendary composer Stephen Schwartz on his musical “Children of Eden” (West Coast Premiere), in which Miles played the role of Cain/Japheth (Inland Theatre League Award- Best Supporting Actor in a musical). He can be heard on the Original US Cast Recording of “Fame: The Musical”, which he also performed in the Original European Tour. Miles has revisited the role of Daniel in “Once on this Island” numerous times across the US, most recently at the Paliku Theatre in Hawaii. Locally, Miles also has experience working with the Diamond Head Theatre, directing such shows as “Swing!” and “Aladdin Jr.”, and has been seen onstage as Laurie in “Little Women” at DHT this past year.
Adealani MaliaOriginally from Kailua, Adealani has been a member of Colorado Ballet, State Street Ballet, New York Theatre Ballet, San Pedro Ballet and Hawaii State Ballet. She has also danced professionally with various contemporary jazz, ballroom and modern companies. Adealani first performed the Broadway Musical “Swing!” with the National/Japanese Tour and has since performed it at other regional theatres, including Gateway Playhouse, Maine State Music Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, Theatre Under the Stars, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Sacramento Music Circus. She originated the role of the Magic Carpet in Disney’s “Aladdin”. Adealani has directed/choreographed “Swing!” here in Hawaii, as well as Aladdin Jr., both at Diamond Head Theatre. Adealani is a certified Pilates instructor and a NYC physical trainer as well.
Megan MountMs. Mount teaches voice and class voice at UHM. She received her BM in Performance from UH in 2003 and has participated in further studies with University of Miami in Salzburg, Austria and Opera Nederland in Amsterdam. In 2008, Megan was a national finalist in the National Society of Arts and Letters regional vocal competition. She is a member of Hawaii Opera Theatre’s May Zenke Orvis Opera Studio and has appeared in several supporting roles with HOT. Recently, Megan was music director for “Avenue Q” at Manoa Valley Theatre and sang the role of Red Girl in DHTs “SHOUT!” and Johanna in Army Community Theater’s “Sweeny Todd.”!
